ORT Community Guidelines

A production of the Human Space Program

ORT Purpose

Leaders and influencers of the space movement convene on Wednesdays at 12:00 pm ET to discuss the culture of the Overview Effect, the evolving space exploration narrative, and our collective path to the sustainable, ethical, and inclusive stewardship of the solar ecosystem.

Guidelines

Attending the Overview Round Table is a privilege, rather than a right. To protect the integrity of this space, this opportunity is only offered directly by Frank White or members of the Human Space Program team.

We are looking ahead to a better way of treating one another, on our home planet and beyond. How we behave today will shape the societies we build in the future. Therefore, we request that all Round Table community members adhere to the following guidelines.

  1. The Overview Round Table is a production of The Human Space Program. Its purpose is to bolster the HSP mission through meaningful dialogue and community feedback collaboration. It is expected that all members be familiar with and willing to uphold the HSP mission and culture.
  2. This community is designed to be a safe space for constructive discussion, support, and innovation. We encourage constructive conversations that work towards solutions. Heated debate, heckling, ridicule, belittling others, demonizing people (especially influencers), or otherwise demeaning or negative behavior will not be accepted in this community.
  3. Please be positive, compassionate, and patient if you do not agree with something. We welcome all kinds of perspectives and feedback. We only ask that you be kind and respectful in your interactions.
  4. Do not be divisive. We are here to promote unity and collaboration, and to move beyond the polarization of making and taking sides. A planet has no sides and we are all in this together!
  5. Finally, remember that you are part of the movement to “Bring the Overview Effect Down to Earth.” We are part of something bigger than ourselves, and we need to act in accordance with that reality.

We’ve come together to solve problems and uplift humanity. It is important that everyone let that charge be your guide as you engage. All members of the Overview Round Table are required to read this document and are expected to uphold these guidelines.

The Human Space Program Leadership Team reserves the right to remove any community member they deem to be repeatedly disruptive, inappropriate, or abusive in any of our Programs or Communities.
